Brazilian Xbox exclusive arrives with special pricing, a new trailer, and Xbox Play Anywhere certification
Ghetto Zombies: Graffiti Squad officially launched on February 25 as a console exclusive on Xbox, now available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Xbox on PC. The title is also Xbox Play Anywhere, meaning players purchase the game once and can play it on both console and PC, with shared progress across platforms.
Developed by Fogo Games and published by Nuntius Games, the game now expands its journey following its success on Steam, receiving strong visibility from Xbox through official platform announcements, including the new official launch trailer.
“What if the hood was humanity’s last hope?”
That was the premise behind the creation of Ghetto Zombies: Graffiti Squad. “GZ was born from the desire of artists and developers from the outskirts of São Paulo’s South Zone to create an experience where the hood would save the world,” explains Fabio Cacho, the game’s Creative Director.
In the universe of Ghetto Zombies, a zombie virus spread through the water supply. The fictional Vila Fundinho happened to be without water that day. No water, no virus. The hood becomes humanity’s last refuge.
From there, the game builds a fantastic reality where a high-tech neighborhood organizes itself, mutant youths are trained to hunt zombies, and absurd weapons enter the scene.
The four main characters represent different archetypes and gameplay styles:
- Kath, the balanced gymnastics leader
- Vini, the agile skateboarder
- Fabão, the big-hearted basketball player
- Duda, the rock-inspired attack specialist
Each character features unique attributes and a specific starting weapon, allowing for different strategic approaches.

More than 70 Weapons and Absurd Zombies
Ghetto Zombies leans into humor and creativity. Inspired by top-down shooters with a comedic tone, the game delivers more than 70 weapons at launch.
“We wanted to move away from the real violence that already exists in the hood. Instead of realistic gunshot sounds, we created crazy weapons like a boxing glove pistol, a shark-bite shotgun, and a ketchup rifle,” Fabio explains.
The zombies follow the same absurd logic. They transform into zombie dogs, enemies with giant arms, tentacled creatures, and the iconic “Boquinha,” among other bizarre variations inspired by exaggerated science fiction with a comedic twist.
In gameplay, painting graffiti on walls triggers zombie hordes. The mechanic directly connects culture and combat. Many of the graffiti pieces in the game are inspired by real artworks found on the streets of São Paulo, in Brasil, leading players to report recognizing murals from the game in real life.

Xbox Play Anywhere and Optimizations for All
The Xbox port was led by Gabriel Roberto from Nuntius Games, who oversaw the project’s technical adaptation.
“Because the Xbox system is unified across Microsoft Store, Xbox One, and Series S/X, it’s the simplest platform to develop for across all generations,” Gabriel states.
Among the main adaptations, Gabriel explains: “I restructured the save and achievements systems to align with Xbox standards and performed optimizations to ensure smooth performance on Xbox One.”
The result is a version that maintains the intensity of the original release, with stable performance on both Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, while also enabling shared progression between console and PC through Xbox Play Anywhere.

Affordable Pricing and Xbox Debut
Ghetto Zombies: Graffiti Squad arrives on Xbox with pricing significantly below the market average, expanding access for console players.
This is yet another example that high-quality indie games, regardless of scope, can reach new heights when given the opportunity to be showcased. We thank all influencers, members of the press, and players who have already enjoyed Ghetto Zombies.
