After surpassing 10,000 wishlist additions in just the week of its reveal, Garden Souls — the highly anticipated pixel-art action roguelite from Statera Studio, creators of Arashi Gaiden and Pocket Bravery — has just received a free demo on Steam allowing players to experience the game for themselves.

The Garden Souls demo has been refined thanks to valuable feedback collected during the last public playtest held earlier in September.

In Garden Souls, players take control of one of the four Garden Princesses in a beautiful, authentic, and dangerous world, where floral biomes are succumbing to a spreading corruption known as Mandragora.

Each area is procedurally generated, presenting new hordes of enemies to overcome. Progress through the regions, unlock powerful attacks and upgrades for your arsenal, infuse your techniques with elements of nature, and recruit mighty allies to dominate the battlefield.

The game’s standout feature is its combo system, built upon Statera Studio’s extensive expertise in the fighting-game genre. By spending points from the Cancel Bar, players can seamlessly chain an attack into any other action — jumps, dashes, slashes, or powerful specials.

This results in a combat system brimming with dynamism and depth, carefully designed to make players feel truly powerful. Each princess also boasts her own distinct fighting style, and mastering them feels like discovering an entirely new game.
