RoboGAL: Gaga Delta Lady – Launch Date Trailer

The 2D action-platformer embraces a colorful and laid-back aesthetic, supported by a cast of highly charismatic characters. With this vision in mind, the developers have shared interesting facts, inspirations, and behind-the-scenes details about the game’s development.

It’s worth noting that the game’s Steam page is already available, allowing players to add it to their wishlists. A playable demo version is also available for those who would like to try the game before launch.

The idea behind RoboGAL: Gaga Delta Lady emerged quite spontaneously. It all started as a simple pixel art animation in which Khael, the game’s artist, imagined what a Mega Man-style game would look like if it featured his own characters and a fully realized universe inspired by 2000s anime.

RoboGAL's Rei-Bo early draft

The first sketches focused on the clumsy protagonist, Rei-Bo. Translating digital artwork into pixel art was an entirely new experience for Khael, though. From there, Horácio, the game’s programmer, volunteered to test the assets in a game engine. Encouraged by the results, the two decided to move forward and turn that initial concept into a commercial product.

The bosses that players encounter throughout the adventure were sketched shortly afterward, even before they had official names. At that stage, only their core themes had been defined, serving as the creative foundation to their respective stages, enemies and mechanics. Their visual designs were developed around these themes and refined over time through feedback and suggestions from other members of the development team.

RoboGAL's bosses early draft

“Only of the things I love most about Mega Man is that each game introduces an entirely new roster of bosses to face, each with their own powers, visual designs, and personalities. The same happens in Touhou Project, where every new installment feels like an opportunity to discover and ‘collect’ a whole new cast of characters,” explains Khael, artist and producer of RoboGAL.

“That is definitely one of the biggest influences behind RoboGAL’s visual identity. I’ve always been drawn to characters with unique and eccentric designs, each memorable in their own way, and I wanted to bring that passion into this game,” says the artist.

RoboGAL: Gaga Delta Lady delivers a rewarding challenge that can be overcome through learning and individual skill. The game’s design draws inspiration from classic titles where trial and error was a core part of the experience. At the same time, it offers three difficulty settings to accommodate different types of players: Chill, Classic, and Lunatic, all of which are available from the very beginning.

“Our goal is to recreate that feeling of learning a little more with each defeat. We provide players with a variety of moves and weapons, ensuring that every challenge in the game can be overcome relatively easily when those tools are used wisely,” explains the producer.

Most enemies can be defeated with Rei-Bo’s basic shot before they even have a chance to attack. In addition, the protagonist benefits from a generous invincibility window after taking damage, while the stages feature thoughtfully placed checkpoints and item distribution designed to help players who may be less familiar with this style of game.

After completing the game on a lower difficulty setting, tackling the more challenging modes becomes a natural and often even more enjoyable experience. “With all of that in mind, I’d really encourage players to give Lunatic Mode a try. It was designed to add an extra layer of intensity to the experience, creating a greater sense that every moment matters. I believe players are going to enjoy it,” says Khael.

There are still more than two weeks to go before RoboGAL: Gaga Delta Lady launches on Steam on October 29, but players won’t have to wait until then to jump into the action. A playable demo is already available, offering an early taste of the adventure.

Be sure to add the game to your Steam wishlist to stay up to date with the latest news and updates, while also helping make its launch another major success for Nuntius Games.
